The Spoetzl Brewery will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a doppelbock. This has been floating around for a couple of weeks now, but it looks official with this article by the SAEN. All in all, I've been pretty underwhelmed by their anniversary brews, with the exception of Shiner Black. And I absolutely abhor their, ahem, holiday brew. Shiner 100 should be available some time in January.

Funny, our opinions on the Shiner anniversary beers are just the opposite of one another. I was underwhelmed by the Black, but really loved all the others. In fact, I think they're some of the best stuff Shiner has ever done.
And I expected to hate the Holiday Cheer, but was surprised to find that I love it. But I can understand how that strong peach flavor would put people off. I have yet to find anyone in the middle ground on that beer — people seem to either love it or hate it.
Shiner 99 is ok. I don't really care for the rest, though, with the exception of Shiner Black. Completely agree with regards to the Holiday Cheer. I think part of my distaste for the beer is that I have a problem with the use of peaches in a 'holiday' beer. I know the holidays mean lots of things to lots of people, but I don't know anyone who thinks of peaches associated with the holiday season.
